A FEW SIMPLE RULES

How to play Laneqube

  1. Slide cars and trucks along their own direction: horizontal vehicles move left or right, and vertical vehicles move up or down.
  2. Vehicles are two or three squares long. They cannot overlap, pass through one another, turn, or leave the 6 × 6 parking lot.
  3. Clear a path for the highlighted target car, then slide it through the exit on the right. Only the target car can leave the board.
  4. One uninterrupted slide of one or more squares counts as one move. Undo restores the earlier move count. Try to match the verified minimum.

Make your move

Drag a vehicle along its lane and release to snap it into place. You can also select a vehicle and use the direction buttons or arrow keys. A drag that does not change its square does not count as a move.

Find your level

Choose Beginner, Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert on the 6 × 6 board. The shortest solution and repeated rearrangements determine each level. Vehicle count alone does not determine the challenge.

New Puzzle selects a checked board from the chosen level’s library. Boards are made and solved before release, with a verified minimum move count. Different winning paths are welcome. Unlimited play includes replaying the library after trying its puzzles.

A nudge when you need one

Hint finds a legal next move from your current position. Pause whenever you like and return later; your progress, moves and hint count stay in this browser.

A little more to know

Are Laneqube puzzles generated while I play?+

No. New Puzzle selects from a library made and checked in advance. Only the needed puzzle bundle is downloaded. The library can be replayed after you have tried its puzzles, so unlimited play does not mean infinitely many different boards.

What does Minimum Moves mean?+

It is the shortest verified solution, counting any continuous slide of a vehicle as one move regardless of distance. You can still solve the puzzle with a longer route.

Is there only one way to solve a puzzle?+

No. More than one sequence can solve the same parking lot. Every included puzzle has a checked solution and minimum move count; a unique solution path is not required.

Can a hint help after I take a different route?+

Yes. Hints use the saved solution when it matches your position and otherwise search from your current vehicle arrangement. A suggested move must be legal in the current position.

How do the five difficulty levels differ?+

Beginner introduces short sequences, Easy adds ordering, and Medium asks you to make space for several vehicles. Hard and Expert involve more rearrangement. Levels use verified shortest paths and repeated repositioning, rather than vehicle count alone.

Can I share this exact puzzle?+

Yes. Use Share to copy a link with the puzzle’s permanent library ID. It opens the same starting vehicle layout. Your moves and answers are not shared.

Is my progress saved?+

Your puzzle, timer, notes and undo history save automatically in this browser when storage is available. Private browsing, clearing website data or changing devices may remove access to your save.
